Im really in to playing like old beatles stuff and Hard Rock and Punk. Is a les paul good for that catchy beatles sound???
Because it seems like the les pauls sound is limited
for old style and ******** punk i would go with a gibson sg rather than a les paul. the les paul is a single cut style guitar which makes the sound fat and beefy. for punk and beatles sounding tone i think the thinner sounding sg is better. its not as fat but it has that bite thats perfect for that kind of music.
The Fender Telecaster or Stratocaster will work great for all of that….The Beatles used Gretch, Vox and Rickenbacher electrics…Not the best for hard rock….
yes…a gibson les paul has practically no limitations.you can get almost any sound you want no matter what amp youre using.however,an epiphone les paul has more limits.the chamber configuration is slightly different,so the sound is different than a gibson.Fender stratocasters also have virtually no limits on sound.telecasters are best for blues, and classic rock in my experience.
