Les Paul Studio? is it better than the fender strat?

I have a les paul studio vintage mahogany and on Monday im going to pay another 200 to get the better finish... now im just wondering... would a fender strat or an sg be a better pick... im gonna go test them out but i'm just wondering for opinions.. i love les paul and strats and if i could only have them both... anyway...if someone could explain the pros and cons for each guitar and the styles of music the les paul studio and strat and sg will cover best... also what finishes are best for the les paul studio? Please help... Please give me an honest review maybe I'll become a fender guy. this just flusters my mind...
