The Gibson Les Paul Standard Plus has Burstbucker Pro with Alnico V pick ups. The Gibson Les Paul Studio uses 490R and 498T Alnico 2 magnet humbucker pickups. So the pickups are slightly different, unless you get the faded finish model. Additionally I prefer the feel of the Les Paul Standard Plus. The flatter neck has always suited my playing style. Add in some serious sustain and I think it's worth the money. Almost forgot the locking Grover Keystone Tuners. Something else the Studio does not have. However if your looking for a great guitar at around $800 you will not be dissatisfied with a Gibson Les Paul Studio.
Good luck!
